On the tab Administration - Settings - Project - Activity, all activities that exist in the system are presented. Here you can add new activities to be selected when creating new projects.
Users with the right Administrator have rights to create new activities.
To create a new activity:
Go to Administration - Settings - Project - Activity
Click on Create activity
Enter Activity Name and select Activity Type
Save the activity
Read more about Activity type in the section Administration - Settings - Project - Activity Group/Type.
In exceptional cases, Variant is selected. When you do not make a selection in this column, the new activity will be a normal activity on which it is possible to report time and enter a note.
The two variants available to choose from are:
Case
Case (mandatory)
Jira - optional if integration to Jira is enabled
Jira (mandatory) - optional if integration to Jira is enabled
All variants provide extra fields in the time reporting view when reporting on activity where it is possible to enter / select a case number as additional information to amount of hours and notes.
If the activity being added is an absence activity, select Absence type. This is necessary for the time reported on the new activity to be treated as absence e.g. in the time registration view and in calculations in the info view in the time registration view.
It is possible to set on an activity that it is mandatory for the time reporter to enter a note when reporting time on that specific activity. If you cannot find the column âRequire note.â column, you may need help from Milient Software support to enable the feature.
You can change the name of an activity. The name change will be reflected in all projects having the selected activity.
NOTE! Projects that are project planned will not have their tasks updated with the new activity name. The tasks will keep their old names.
It is possible to change the activity type of an activity. Such a change affects both time transactions made on the activity and new time registrations on the activity in the future.
It is possible to change the absence type of an activity. Such a change only affects new time transactions made on the activity.
Deactivating an activity means that the activity will disappear from the time registration view of all projects that have the selected activity. To deactivate an activity, check the âDisableâ checkbox on the far right of the row.
It is possible to reactivate an activity that is inactive. To find inactive activities in the list, check âShow inactiveâ.
