Overview

This article will explain how to create a customer in Moment.

This is the main overview for your customers. Here you will find general search filters for the customers registered in your database.

Adding a new customer

In the top right corner of your overview, you'll find the button for registering new customers. If the button is not visible to you, contact your local administrator to review your access role.

When registering a new customer, you need to add some data.

For Norwegian customers, you can search both name and organization number in the Name field, and we'll retrieve the data from the Brønnøysund register.

Country

The customer's country of origin.

This does not affect currency.

Number

This will be the customer number in Moment.

You can override it, but you need to make sure that the number matches existing number series for customers in external accounting systems. The settings for customer number series and rules can be found in the General settings.

Name

The customers name or the company's organization number.

Norwegian customers will get the option to automatically be added from the Brønnøysund register if there is a match with name or organization number.

Status

The status of the customer. This can be set either as potential, active, blocked or inactive.

Any other status than active could affect the visibility in the customer and project overview, and be grouped differently in certain reports and filters. When creating a new project from the Project overview, only active customers will be shown.

Tags

You can organize customers by using tags, added under Setup / Tags.

Working with tags are comparable to organizing your work in folders, except tags have the advantage of several tags being applicable to the same customer.

Tags are shown in the Customer overview, and you can filter them in several different reports.

Relation

Choose what definitions best suit the relation.

If the customer is set as Project participant, they will not appear as an option when creating a new project from scratch, but will appear when adding additional customers to Price models.
