# Absence Approval based on tags

In Moment you can enable approving absence for your team based on absence tags. This makes it easier for team leaders to approve absences for their team members by notifying in the bell section everytime a co-worker you are absence approver for registers absence in their timesheets. Below is a guide on how you can set this up and which steps that need to be followed.

**Step 1:** To enable use of absence approval tags go to Setup > Settings > General > Absence entries > Who has to approve absences and choose the following option from the drop down menu:

**Step 2:** Go to Setup > tags > For co-workers > + New Group and create the following group:

![New Group: Absence Approval](/files/fPg4qBRRf07ro0AsLIa3)

Under this group create a new tag as follows:

**Step 3:** Go to resources > co-workers and choose the specific co-worker who is going to be responsible for approving absences for a group. Under this co-workers main page click edit and add the tag under **"Approves absences for tag"** as follows and save:

**Step 4:** Go back to resources > co-workers and choose a co-worker that the responsible person is going to approve absences for and add the tag under tags (found at the bottom of the page)

When the above mentioned is done, pending absences to be approved will appear in the notification bell:

The absences will appear as follows and can easily be approved or rejected.
